JBOC Notes:

Grogan's calls this a Kuba Runner and I have decided that it is a Lezgi Kuba runner. he rug is a classic example of a Kuba rug. I just believe that many of the Kubas rugs can be further attributed to the Lezgi which are one of the main ethno-linguistic groups of the Kuba region.

Kuba Rugs have blue three cord selvages as we wee in the images to the left. What distinguishes Lezgi rugs is the way the blue selvage wrap that extends into the pile area. as we can see in the upper image. I also expect to see strands of the selvage extend 3 to six inches into the pile. Then I noticed in a warn area one of those intrusions that I expected in a Lezgi rug. I added the arrow to point it out.
