Galerie Arabesque Akhal Tekke torba Item Details Size 100cm(W) x 33cm(L) / 3'3"(W) x 1'1"(L) Item Type Torba Region Tekke, Turkmen Date First half 19th century (1800 - 1849) Condition pile is even and good but there are 2 rejoined splits, one on each side of the field, and the selvedge wrap is not original. Structure pile, asymmetric knot open right with a weft-faced plain weave folded and sewn top. Materials wool, camel, and goat Full Description though executed in a style presumed to be late 19th century, this torba is in fact several generations older.
